Precious moments
Judah has been sick the last couple days. It is so precious that he wants to cuddle with me a lot, the poor kid is so wiped out and tired. I love moments where I can just hold my children in my arms. He took 2 steps today before collapsing in my arms. I think his tubes in his ears may be encouraging him to talk more. I wonder if he couldn't hear himself too well, it may have helped his balance as well.
Ian and I had some great time together. We played red light green light. He had to run when I held up a green circle and stop when I held up a red circle. He is definitely a Kinesthetic learner, he learns through doing and anyway when he can move. I am starting to work with him on rhymes and word families. I found these great posters and large flashcards for any word family you could think of. Here's the link if any of you are interested: http://www.wordway.us.com/PosterSET.pdf

We also played a game where we drew verbs out of a jar and he had to do the action.
I have a hard time thinking of many things I can do with Judah and Ian during the day. Does anyone have any good ideas?
I am really considering homeschooling. I figure I am a teacher anyways, and I am already getting sad about the thought of them reaching school age, because I like having them home :) The first 5 years are so critical for children's development in all areas, so I want to teach them everything I can.
I have been taking my focus more off of academics and more so on learning about God. I think learning ABC's, numbers, colors is important, but I want to shape and mold my children to love God wholeheartedly and devote their lives to His glory. So maybe there are some ways I can teach my children academics and about God all at the same time. I will have to think about that.
Anybody have some great teaching ideas for me?
I am so looking forward to having the summer off from teaching and be able to spend all of my time with my children. I just pray God can give me an abundance of rest and energy for each of my days. By Thursday, I feel a little like an energizer bunny that has run out of batteries :)
